Responsible Investment Strategy

At Glenn Hill, our objective is to make informed investments and contribute to the growth of emerging companies. We strive to assist investors in realizing their financial objectives, benefiting their clients, beneficiaries, families, and communities. This is achieved by deploying our own capital, as well as the capital from investment partners worldwide. Our investment partners include public and private pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, foundations, family offices, and high net worth individuals.

We recognize that environmental, social, and governance ("ESG") issues, including those related to climate change, are gaining increased prominence among investors, employees, and other stakeholders. This shift is influencing their investment decisions and their choice of employers.

To effectively manage our firm and make informed investment decisions, it is imperative for us to consider these evolving priorities.

By integrating ESG factors into our investment process, we believe that we can greatly enhance value creation by identifying business opportunities and mitigating risks. We thoroughly assess key ESG considerations for each company across our diverse platforms, including private equity, credit, and wealth management. Additionally, we take into account broader ESG factors that are relevant to the specific industries in which these companies operate.

Asset Management

The portfolio managers at Glenn Hill Holdings select active managers who have been highly rated by our research teams. These managers are equipped with ESG ranks, profile and exposure data, as well as ESG and carbon footprint metrics. Only investments with top-tier rankings are included in our portfolios. Moreover, our investment products may incorporate ESG-related themes. The manager appointments undergo thorough evaluation and approval by the governance groups within the Investment Division.

Risk management for sustainable development

Portfolio managers at Glenn Hill actively monitor and assess financially significant sustainability risks on an ongoing basis. They leverage relevant metrics and engage in consultations with external investment managers, also known as subadvisors, to identify potential risks. If a sustainability risk is identified, they initiate comprehensive discussions with the external investment manager associated with the holding.

Strategic Planning.

Our researchers at Glenn Hill are continuously enhancing and refining ESG-related strategies such as Decarbonization 2.0, impact investing, and ESG-themed solutions. These strategies are developed with a focus on carbon-related products, leveraging proprietary carbon metrics and other ESG-related metrics. Notably, we have devised our own Green Energy Ratio, a metric that quantifies the proportion of renewable energy generated by a utility. This unique metric, along with climate change mitigation technologies, enables us to identify potential leaders in the transition towards a sustainable climate.
